Seaman by hjbenson

Seaman

Seaman was the Newfoundland dog that went with Lewis & Clark on their exploration of the territory purchased from France doubling the then size of the United States. Their are many statues of Seaman along the route they went.
Great way to mark history

What a colorful and interesting find. I went on a tour a few years ago in which our guide told many Lewis and Clark stories. He seemed to omit the part about the dog. I've never heard of Seaman before.

Looks like he's part of one of those art installations where different artists decorate them and they get placed around town. Nice shot.
