Books and more Books

For the past two days I have been fighting a cold – it seems to have gone away now – so I haven't left the apartment. The books are from my youth and work years

@boxplayer For 12 years I was a researcher and programmer in Research Labs, then I started teaching programming languages in the University.

I’ve just had a very happy time looking at your bottom two shelves, really fabulous books…. Oh boy - if if I lived close by I’d ask to borrow. Wonderful stories. I spent years reading to my boys and in class. Really fab!
The top shelves are a bit grown up for me… 😂🤣

What a wonderful collection of old boys books! My dad always talked about the Dare Boys— particularly “The Dare Boys on the Brandywine.” Frank and I have too many books in our house, but I’m so tempted to look for that one and buy it.

@mcsiegle The Dare Boy series were written by Stephen Angus Cox. He was a contemporary of Edward Stratemeyer who wrote the Rover Boys, Tom Swift, Hardy Boys. He went on to write master plots of the later stories in these series (and others). He hired unemployed English Majors to fill in the details. When he died his daughters took over writing the master plots and started a new series Nancy Drew
