Took this coming home from school. You can see all the smoke in the area from the fire outside of Boulder, CO, even though this is 100 miles north!
One thing that is bothering me is the amount of vignetting in this picture... it is something I did not add in photoshop. I've never had vignetting issues with my 18-200mm VR lens before... Maybe it's because I took it through a car window? It's rather discerning, and I'm about to go out and test some test shots. I hope this lens didn't somehow get harmed when it got all dirty a few weeks ago at the rally event I shot...
I use to get the same effect with my film camera when I had a) the wide angle lens and polarizing filter or b) 50mm lens and too many filters stacked on the lens? Perhaps that??
Might try the same scene while zooming in or out, recording your focal length and see if you get the same effect. Then try the same thing thru you car window, might eve do that first. Just some thoughts.
I've been using this lens for years and years, I pretty much know how it should respond in all circumstances... I think it was the dirty car windows, but I'll see tomorrow.
