My light box came today from Adorama! *happy dance* No more paying for crappy scans off all my slide and b&w film! Wahhoooo! I plan on photographing them with a Nikkor 60mm macro lens and my D300. Much more accurate color results and way higher resolution than what my scans from Dwayne's Photo were giving me. Pretty excited.
Threw up some of my Velvia negatives from my Nevada trip last October. Just resized the photo and sharpened it, no color correction. Looking to be promising! (And the best part is I can include the frame markings in my "scans," as those are not part of actual scans.
Taken with a Nikon D300, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens. Photos within the photo taken with a Holga 120FN on Fuji Velvia 100 film. Processed at Dwayne's Photo.
Excellent! Scanning has always been a problem for me, as I only have a flat bed without a light in the lid. Photographing off a light box seems like a much better alternative.
@crappysailor I've scanned a ton of my negs with a normal scanner, and yeah... doesn't work out too well, especially on high key stuff. I'm really excited to use the lightbox. Got my remote yesterday, and now just waiting for the macro lens to come.
however, this is very cool. love the negative 'strips'.
