The clouds have finally cleared and I've been trying to get a picture of Mars, but somehow I ended up with this, some sort of bat signal. Even with my tripod, I can't get a good shot.
When I took a shot of Venus, it ended up looking like a pulsating light. I'm not sure why the camera can shoot the moon and not other planets, but perhaps it's the distance and the strength of the zoom? I have no clue!
@linnypinny Thanks! @olivetreeann It's probably the distance and size. I was just so zoomed in on this one that even my tripod wasn't holding it steady enough. Wind must have been blowing.
@danette Yes, I tried that, too. I think the wind was blowing or something. @farmreporter Happy accidents! LOL! @frantackaberry I do fine with the moon, but this one didn't work, that's for sure!
@clicketynix Well, I can teach you how to take a good moon picture. It's quite easy really. The thing is, it can't be on auto. Auto will read the darkness and not adjust for the bright light of the moon, turning it into a blob. You have to speed up the shutter. A half moon or less will probably need a shutter around 1/200 and a full moon might need a shutter as fast as 1/2000. You just have to adjust until you get it right.

Been there, done that!
