Another old abandoned house with a rickety roof. I've been wanting to get a picture of this one for 2 years now. Finally got it today. The ivy is about to over take it. As you can see from the foreground of the top picture, even the ground in some areas is covered in ivy, as are many of the giant trees.
@maggiemae It's rural North Carolina in the Southern U.S. That ivy creates almost a jungle feel here in the summer time. It's crazy. They rarely do anything to stop it here, unless it's covering a stop sign or something.
@carolmw In a few years, you probably won't be able to see that house during the summer. There are lots of old abandoned houses here that emerge from the jungle in late Jan and disappear again in May. LOL!
Wow!!! I always knew ivy would really cover something well, but I can't believe how much it's taken it over. Very cool shot! That is scary. The power of nature!
@kerosene If you look at the bottom of the top picture, that is the edge of a field that is completely covered in ivy. It's a fairly good sized corner lot, too. I must get out and take some ivy shots.
