Magnolias are beautiful, big flowers. The blower is easily the size of a dinner plate when it fully unfolds. The pod in center of this one is about 3 inches high.
@olivetreeann The deciduous tulip magnolias are much smaller. Although, I like their colors more. We have a lot of purple ones here that bloomed several months ago. But, the evergreen version are giant trees. Even with dinner plate sized flowers, you hardly notice them on the trees. I wish they were pink or some other color to stand out more.
