Nice one, I am hugely obsessed with the moon! Teenager did a course in Astronomy and I learned so much while he did. I like that you caught it low enough in the sky to still get the sepia-orange glow that comes from seeing it through the atmosphere and dust.
@homeschoolmom I love the stages of the rising! Always very orange immediately after she appears above the horizon and gradually lessens as she climbs through the atmosphere and dust. Once she clears that, she is the traditional bridal white. So if you prefer a white moon, just wait a short time and watch her rise. You would be amazed how fast her position changes. Pretty soon she will be glowing white.
