Tiny Stitches

I'm working on the quilt that my grandmother made for my sister. She actually completed the quilt top. However, 40+ years later, her tiny hand stitches needed some re-enforcement. So, I machine sewed just behind her stitches. Some of the material in the seam allowance is fraying, so I'm hoping that will also help stop the fraying.

I know you’ll be so proud of it when it is finished. It looks as if she used a very wide weave fabric to make it in the first place or else this is a really close up shot.
