Full lunar eclipse by homeschoolmom

Full lunar eclipse

Last night, I braved the cold (coldest night we have had so far - 20 degrees F) to view and photograph the lunar eclipse. It was a fun family event. We could even hear a few neighbors out doing the same thing.
Nice one, Lisa!

I'm so jealous. When the eclipse was full, I couldn't even find the moon in my viewfinder.

Didn't get to see it as red as this but at least it was clear enough to see it super-sized. fav!

Great capture! I salute you for braving the cold to get it. I was photographing it too, but not in extreme conditions.

You know after the 50th shot of the moon it gets hard to comment. But bravo on braving the cold - we had a storm.

@maggiemae The brighter the moon, the faster the shot needs to be. I usually adjust the shutter speed to 1200 or more for a full moon. For a sliver moon, it might be as low as 200. This one was taken during the eclipse, so it might throw off your settings. My camera has an auto setting for the moon, so I can cheat a little.
