My Mother's Day Present by homeschoolmom

My Mother's Day Present

My hubby got me a special rare item for Mother's Day. Apparently, Walther only makes the PK380 in pink for one distributor, so they are hard to find. But, at least it's pink. And hopefully, more reliable than my other pink gun.
Fun trivia: Did you know that Mother's Day started in Grafton, WV? Father's Day also got it's start in WV.
My husband would be so proud of you.

I can definitely say a most unusual subject. I have only seen a gun once or twice before on 365 and I don't think I have ever seen a pink one

@grammyn I actually have two pink ones! LOL!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond We go to the range as a family often. It's fun. But, this will be my carry piece. The area we live in isn't exactly safe, so when I'm out alone, I carry a gun in my purse for protection.

@claycameras ooh are you a pink girl too????
@homeschoolmom that is so alien to me, I've only held air rifle and missed target but was fun missing and admiring others skill. Hope you never have to use 'in anger'

@30pics4jackiesdiamond It's not "in anger," but in "self preservation" that I would use one. Actually, air rifles are harder to use than a real rifle because you don't actually hold on to them, you just let them rest on your hand or you throw off your aim. My son has one and he's obsessed with learning how to shoot it correctly. He's really good with a real rifle and with archery, but the air rifle always shoots several inches to the right and it bugs him! LOL!)

@homeschoolmom I agree. Self preservation! I want to get one and take lessons or just practice. You never know!

@cdc44 My husband is an NRA instructor for shotgun and rifle, as well a range safety officer. He's hoping to get his certification for pistol. He's taught a bunch of people to shoot, though, including me and our 3 kids. We like to go shoot as a family. It's fun. And it can be a handy skill to have. For a woman, I recommend a smaller caliber gun. I have really small hands, so most guns are hard for me to hold. This one is a good size for me, as was my Bersa .380. But, my husband bought me a .38 revolver. It was really small, fit my hand well, but it was too big a caliber for that small of a gun. Hurt my hand to shoot it. So, before you buy, go to a range that will let you rent and try or use a friends' to test it out.
