We had the watermelon packed in the back with the other groceries around it so it wouldn't roll. Well, that worked for about 2 seconds. So, when we stopped at a stoplight, my son unbuckled his seabelt and reached in the back to grab it. Instead of holding it all the way home, he buckled it in the seat beside him.
