Photoshop to the rescue. My husband has been in a class this week that focuses on using LinkedIn for your job search. So, tonight, he asked me to get a pic of his military medals to mix with a photo he took of some computer components. I think it would have looked better if the medals were on the left, but I couldn't flip the pic without putting his medals out of order.
Are you using PS? Try making the components and the meals about the same size. The metals would be the bottom layer. Then you can put a vector mask (see the icons on the bottom of the layers that is a circle inside a rectangle). Then with a brush and the color black you paint on the mask where you want the metals to be. If you do to much just brush with white. You can play with the size of each layer too. If you lower the opacity of the components you can see the metals under to help. You can also you use the Rectangle Marque tool for straight lines. Just be sure you are on the vector mask. And fill the selection you make with black. If you lowered the opacity of the components don't forget to bring them back to 100%. Hope this helps.
