Brushed enough fur off my dog today to make a shih tzu, and he's still shedding. There is a downside summer in the South. The hotter it gets, the more the dog sheds. The brush is about 6 inches long and 5 inches wide, just for comparison to the size of the pile, which was easily 5 inches thick.
