“Every young sculptor seems to think that he must give the world some specimen of indecorous womanhood, and call it Eve, Venus, a Nymph, or any name that may apologize for a lack of decent clothing.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne
i love your bold use of minimal lighting it creates such a great mood/texture - its crazy cool how we can only see the right side of your face, with the ridge of your nose delineating dark side vs. light. I really like this, fav.
I've had to come look at this a few times... For me this with the quote is somewhat sad. You seem fragile and bruised (or your subject character ) and I feel that with the quote it implies a flaw towards that percieved perfection of womanhood. It's late. I'm on my cell. I probably make no sense.
I was gonna make a side boob comment, but John beat me to it. So mad at that guy! ;)
Faving this, duh. And my thoughts are along the lines of @talea . I would even venture to say that this might be the most fragile self portrait I've seen of yours. Brilliant as always!
@sparkle @moreyoulessme @seanoneill thank yous :)

@houdiniem Personal subjectivity colored my own view then by a smidgen. ;) Which makes me just as guilty as the artist I suppose.
