Rumbach Street Synagogue

Exquisite!
Built in 1874 by a more conservative congregation. The architect was from Vienna and later became famous for his Secessionist style. The style is definitely a Moorish-Byzantine.
The congregation objected to the church style of the Great Synagogue built just down the street only 15 years before.
It was badly damaged in WW2. It was reconstructed 2016-2021.
I took so many photos. I just hated to have to narrow them down.
The details are stunning. Fascinating history
