This little sparrow and her boyfriend/husband built a nest above our outside water-heater/boiler about 2 month ago. Then I saw a huge lizard and feared the worst. However, now they are back and working on their nest. Hope that lizard stays away from now on!
Lovely capture. How is AYWMC going? I am having to really pay attention this week. I understand each element but then in practice it goes a bit haywire.
@wakelys Hi Susan, I love the AYWMC course! I did a 4 week course a long time ago, so I was familiar with the terms and could use the shutter speed priority. However, I never really understood the creative aspects or got to use manual! I can now alter settings and play with it when my subject is not moving for at least 5 minutes.... This bird was coming and going so that worked, but I am going to need an awful lot of practicing!
PS - this one was taken in Aperture priority mode
@louannwarren She is tiny. When looking up if it was indeed a sparrow, I came across a study done in Austrailia which turned out that the warmer the climate, the smaller the birds are. It was a study about sparrows. Looking at the pigeons and seagulls we have here it doesn't seem to be true for every bird....
