Pencils #1

To get a little more cheerful I took the "coloring box" out. This is the first of a series...

Today I felt a bit sad because at the moment it looks like there is no way to get a visa our daughter Nadya.
A tourist visa is a big NO for now, but I had the brilliant idea to get her added to our family visa. Because she is under 21 normally that should be no problem at all, but it looks like they are not issuing any visa at the moment. An Omani friend told me that we do have a chance if Covid numbers are going down. I knew that we have a curfew and that the beaches are closed, but apparently hospitals are at capacity.
Unfortunately the news in English is not very good. Often the newspapers have a big header about something and then write one sentence. We call it "one-liners". After reading them you have more questions than answers.

We do have permission to leave and return to Oman, so that is a possibility . But it is not the preferred option. We have only 3 weeks holiday, she has almost 3 months. On top of that it will be 4 tickets against 1.
that is not so encouraging news. but you have to hope for the better. and cheer yourself up with such amazing photographs. i like the sharpness in the focus point and the depth of field and how lovely these colours are

Oh dear I’m so sorry. Covid continues to change everything about our lives and routines. Our larger cities are in what I call “Covid disarray”. Things change minute to minute. Your photo is lovely and yes it is cheery.

So sorry to hear the news regarding your daughter - even though I only live 35 miles from my mom, I have only seen her twice in person (and outside on the porch, not in the house) twice since December 2019...covid continues to do not only physical damage, but mental/emotional as well. I love that you chose a colorful image to cheer yourself (and others) up. Nicely captured and thanks for the smile ♥

Oh dear what an upheaval Covid has caused.

My daughter is stuck in the UK at the moment trying to return to Australia after a year in Germany. She got the flight to UK from Germany a few weeks ago and is staying with friends at the moment. She had a flight booked for the 26 October but it has now been cancelled and it could be next year before she can get on another flight to Australia.

@onewing Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this. I have quite a few Australian friends here in Oman and heard the stories how hard it is to return. Hope your daughter will be able to return as soon as possible.

clean, clear and sharp focus on this, ingrid. aces!

sad to hear about your daughter's visa problem. can't your husband's office help? do you have alternate plans for her for the 3 months she's off school? the problem, too, with all family going, apart from your limited time is time itself. wherever you go, you might be compelled to do the 2-week quarantine, both ways, so your three weeks won't suffice. i hope it gets resolved soon and she will be able to reunite with the family.
