The odd one... by ingrid01

The odd one...

Yesterday I went to the beach with my camera. The weather is awesome - sunny and an very nice temperature 27C/80F.
There were hardly any people and lots of birds. I quite liked this picture.

I needed to be out of the house for a while as just do not know what to do with myself. The first time Nadya went for a pcr test was on December 2nd. That one came back positive. The 3 girls in her house then got tested. One girl (with cold symptoms) was positive. The other 2 negative.
There are 2 scenarios: 1) the positive one brought it back after Thanksgiving and the others will get it too
or 2) one of the negative girls brought it from work (she works in CVS, testing people) and both are already done with it. The working girl had a cold around the 22nd of November.

On December 9th Nadya went for a test again without luck. On the 14th she took a commercial test before flying and just now that came back positive too.

Other than being really disappointed and sad she is fine and never has had any symptoms.
I just read in a Dutch article that they guess 1 out of 6 people is asymptomatic, possibly a lot more - up to 81% is measured on a cruise ship in Uruguay.
According to a small Chinese study (37 asymptomatic patients) these patients have a weaker reaction to the virus and carry it along with them longer.
Grrr... I hate this and don't know what to do... Just looked at flights... Think she needs to test again next week and... if that is positive again... I might want to go there...
Oh dear what a difficult decision you have to make. I do hope Nadia's next test is negative. So many people around the world will be having a totally different Christmas this year. Our Christmas will be a non- event.

Great shot. I thought maybe this was an aerobics class with the teacher standing tall and the ones at the back of the group(nearest the shore) not paying attention.
How frustrating, hope that Nadya’s next test is ok. So difficult when it is out of your hands.

That bird is me LOL!
Oh I am so sorry to read this, what a frustrating situation. I sincerely hope Nadya's next test is negative. A researcher I trust here, Prof Tim Spector, thinks from his studies that it is around 1 in 5 cases, 19% that are asymptomatic. Not as high as some projections you can read out there. I hope she shakes it off speedily and you can see one another again soon as you have been looking forward to. Lots of love to you today xx

A lovely capture! Sorry to hear about all the family difficulties - sending good thoughts and prayers that it will work out to be together over the holiday - I'm like Babs...it will be a very different Christmas, but at least my mom and sister live close enough for me to drive down and sit outside for a few minutes!

This is so sad for your daughter. I'm glad she has no symptoms. I feel for you with your distance- that must be so challenging for a mum. I love this photo of the birds.

Thank you for all your kind words! They are really appreciated. I'm a person that normally has a plan B ready for when plan A doesn't work out, but in this situation we cannot do anything but wait and that is very frustrating.
However, there is some hope that her next test will be negative and in the meantime we keep telling ourselves that their are worse things in the world. Except for Covid-positive and sad/disappointed she is well.

Oh my. I’m so sorry to read this. How frustrating and hard during the holidays especially. I so hope she can come to Oman. I’m so sorry, Ingrid.
