I wanted a Desert Rose for today's pink and I know a spot where there are many in pots, but it is quite a walk. So I kept my eyes open during my morning walk with Dino and found one flower!
In order to get big droplets I mixed sugar with water. My droplets were nice and big! However the flower was a bit squeezed after bringing it home from my walk.
Time flies when you are playing with photos and at 9am (it is spring break) Yelena came down and was surprised to see me. I needed to do grocery shopping and at 11am a friend would stop by. Her son studies music in the UK and needed to record his pieces on a real piano. So off I rushed to the grocery store.
After my friend and her son were gone, I had a look at my pictures and wasn't too happy. However, there is a Desert Rose in a pot 2 houses down. Because it is hot (+ 100F/ + 38C), there is nobody in the street at that time and I decided to sneak out and get one.
Exactly at the moment that I was getting close to the plant the gate opened... 2 gardeners came out.. they walked away so in my second attempt I got this flower.
With the syringe I put a big droplet, but because it was sugar water little ants were everywhere! I rinsed the flower and sprayed it with just water this time.
In the end it was all worth it, because I'm quite happy with this picture! The plan for next week is fruits and vegetables.
