Rain in Muscat... by ingrid01

Rain in Muscat...

On Tuesday we had very heavy rain in Muscat. It was one big downpour in the morning. Water came in via the balconies and our upstairs totally flooded.
Although it rained the whole day, it was not that heavy after the initial hour.

So the girls and I went to a shopping mall. Nadya will graduate in May and quite liked the idea of a "graduation ring", however she did not like the graduation rings (designs and prices) from her university. So my husband and I decided to give her a ring she likes when she graduates.
We visited some jewelry stores to see what she likes and to get the size of her finger.

Then we quickly stopped by the grocery store for some vegetables. They have had problems with a leaking roof....
Just an iPhone photo, because I really liked the problem solving here...

Nadya left for Dallas early today (Thursday morning). Tonight is an alumni event at the school. Demyan graduated last school year and will attend. As PTA is involved I'm pretty busy, but I managed to look through all your photos.
Tomorrow, I hope to have more time and catch up with my own photos!
The solution is very clever, indeed!

Very clever solution to the problem. It is so hard for me to believe Nadya has been going to UTD for 4 years and is graduating in May! Oh my!

Very clever way to solve the problem. Buckets of water can be so very heavy!

Ik vind moderne architectuur interressant en over de hele wereld haast het zelfde. Heet globalisering geloof ik
Ook zeze winkelkarren zijn overal hetzelfde.

Enjoyed reading the story. Just like here, most of the year without rain, but when it does we get flooding everywhere. I like your shot with the shopping baskets scattered all around.

An intriguing capture and story. Glad to hear the problem was short-lived.
