Mosque of Omar Ibn al-Khattab by ingrid01

Mosque of Omar Ibn al-Khattab

A little further there are 2 small mosques with no more than 30 meters in between. I thought that they belonged together, but they look different and have different names, so probably not.

When I looked up Mosque of Omar Ibn al-Khattab I noticed that there are many mosques with this name. And in the Muscat area at least 2.

Then Wikipedia told me that Omar was one of the most powerful and influential Muslim caliphs in history. He was a senior companion and father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

A caliph is the chief Muslim civil and religious ruler, regarded as the successor of Muhammad.
This one looks so crisp and clean standing on its own.

A very interesting narrative. I can see that you will not run out of mosques to photograph for the 30 day challenge.
