masts snow by ingrid2101

masts snow

SOOC don't have time to do anything and I know I'm hectic all day tomorrow but.. We have snow!! Waiting patiently and went to the pier tonight as there's always good lighting there - just liked the way these masts leaned in towards each other. Liked the colours too
I love the colour Ingrid, very earthy. The lines of the mast are great against the direction of the snow trails. Amazing.

the moving snow creates so much texture and poetry. What an eye you have to get this.

Beautifully atmospheric -- love the subtle lines of the masts against the rich brown background and the painterly texture created by the snow.

Thank you very much for the comments, it was getting pretty wild when I was taking the photos but I like it when it's like that!

I wanted to know where are you living and found out it from your profile. I know something about living there because we lived one your near Aberdeen :)
I will follow you now.

To be honest, I wouldn't think to take this photo. I so enjoy your work because it reminds me to search for potential in the not so obvious places, too.

@janpenny @automaticslim @mizhayz @pflaume Thank you for the comments - much appreciated
@lehy We're about 150 miles north of Aberdeen but a group of islands so a good difference to a city but similar weather!!

Excellent shot. But what are the lights in the upper left? Look like stars...
January 23rd, 2013
@timerskine Hoped no-one was going to ask...I have no idea!! I only took two photos at this bit as it was late and disgusting weather, they're not in the other photo though. they're certainly not stars as this was taken when it was snowing very heavily. It would be cool if they were - now I really want to know... I showed it to my husband as he works on a boat there but he has no idea either .. sorry!

When I view this large, it has the colours and textures of a Turner or Rothko painting. Wonderful.
