beach near the old Holm kirk

Great sun coming through the clouds yesterday, out a run to the East Mainland of the island - this is close to where my grandparents had a farm. i spent as much time there as I could, total freedom in the 70's.

camera Nikon FE
film Ilford HP5
Dev. 8 mins ID11
That is gorgeous

February 12th, 2013
Stunning image, how do you meter for this?
February 12th, 2013
@jameshislop In camera it was reading really high about 1/500th on 400 asa flml so I took it down to 1/250th and that was at f22 as well. It's quite often guess work as I get frustrated by too much tech

@cmc1200 Thanks Caryn I use HP5 a lot as it can be quite dark here so I prefer working with slightly faster film - to be honest I've never used a huge variety of brands - before the internet you used what was available but I just got a suppliers catalogue today with an order and loads of film I'd like to try. Glad to hear you're going to print some - I'm hoping to do the same. Look forward to seeing what you do
February 12th, 2013

Know exactly what you mean about how what we value changes - I love my home town now, but if someone could just arrange for a beach to be dropped at one end of the street and snow-capped mountains at the other, it would be perfect! : )
