somewhere on the A9

Misty day coming up from Edinburggh - forgot I'd stopped to take photos here. It's on one of the small bridges but I can never remember which one
Just when I thought it was all over my photography tutor rang today wondering if I'd completed my evaluation. Took my head out of the sand and said No I hadn't. Would she like me to do it. Yes please. When. Today? Hahahaha. OK
Rollei
Kodak Gold 200 asa
expired film chems C41
Thanks to Google maps this is the Dornoch firth bridge about 30 miles north of Inverness. I love technology, saves my brain working ;)
Amazing-love those tones

This is calm and beautifully lit. A lovely view of water and sky with just enough land to anchor it. Fav. By the way, I just found 4 or 5 rolls of Kodachrome 250, expiration date in the 90's. I thought I'd load it into an old 35 mm -- either my Pentax Super ME or Canon Rebel -- and see what happens. Any suggestions?

I don't even know what it is about this but I just LOVE it. Very calming and retro in feel. Fav!

Oh this is just lovely Ingrid.

@catwoman2 Mary, Kodachrome has a complex developing process - K14 I think that as far as I'm aware no one does any longer. Google it but I'm fairly certain it can't go through E6

Peter, do you know anything about developing Kodachrome? I have a feeling it's a horribly complex process- Mary was asking. Thank you

Oh that feels bleak - like the way the sea and the sky merge

Fav. Just live this. The colours are fantastic and I love the composition

There's something so mesmerising about this. The painting-like quality really comes through when viewed large. A fav for me, too.

@peterdegraaff sorry I can't type well on my phone and realised the previous time I tagged you it was wrong! Do you know anything about processing Kodachrome? Mary was wondering - I have a feeling the process is obselete and complicated. Just wondered if you'd tried it? Thank you :)

I like that all of the layers (water, earch and sky) appear to smoothly meld as one. The tones are relaxing. I can feel damp air. Well done Ingrid.

@chezza Oh how bad am I at Geography?? I had to look it up, it's the Dornoch Firth Bridge about 30 miles north of Inverness. thank goodness for street view on google maps ;). My excuse is to me it's new as we used to have to go right in around the firth, this bridge saved about an hour driving!!
June 5th, 2013
@catwoman2 Mary I've looked up Flickr groups - it seems you can process this as black and white, not sure about chems etc. can't be more help sorry, certainly got nothing to lose by trying :)
June 5th, 2013
@ingrid2101 hahaha. I am much the same. Thanks for looking it up. Thats a fair save of driving. Google is my best friend too

Such lovely tones. Wonderful serenity in this shot. FAV

I like this a lot. Total minimalism. Fav

It is not possible to develop Kodachrome yourself, and Kodak has stopped doing it. You would have to find a LAN, but I'm not sure that is possible as it was a patented process

@peterdegraaff Thank you Peter, my son had an old roll so that's what I thought

This is so calming ! How do you manage to evoke such emotion in such a simple image? Beautiful :-)
June 5th, 2013
Gorgeous - love how the tones and textures of sea, land and sky melt into one! There's always a college evaluation waiting to ruin your day! Hope you have time to chill now all the hard work is done! : )) fav

June 14th, 2013
lovely shot, almost looks like a watercolour in its softness. What Rollei do you have?
June 22nd, 2013
@spookydirt it's a little Rollei F rangefinder. 4 focus settings and set lens but sweeeeeet!!
June 24th, 2013
@ingrid2101 I think I know the one, been tempted to get it (but need to stop buying old cameras) . I've got a Rollei b35 but it's not rangefinder although it is absolutely tiny.
