Wild weather today - forgot to start posting yesterday as we had family over for dinner.... Went out a drive with my daughter today - ended up at this beach - I just managed to get the car door open . Toying with the idea of investing in digital, been a few places recently where I've had the wrong speed/colour of film in and just used my iphone, the quality of which I detest. We'll see
That's really quite majestic!
Digital is fun. I can't imagine going back to film now. If you want a really fun and versatile one, I can't recommend the Fujifilm X100 highly enough. Lots of fun and the fixed lens wouldn't trouble you I think. :)
The film presets are pretty cool too, if you like that sort of thing. Quite a few of the older versions knocking around now.
@humphreyhippo That looks good - I had my eye on the XE1 - seems very similar - half of all I do is digital so it makes sense to get something a bit more controllable - iphone is :(
Digital is great, I cannot recommend Nikon gear highly enough. Nik software is good for film effects. Interesting that I seem to be moving towards film. Getting a balance between the two is my ambition. I carry a film camera and my digital now.
@humphreyhippo@ingrid2101 - Ingrid! Happy to see you posting, and this photo is lovely. Just wanted to chime in on the digital idea in relation to Fuji. Since deciding that film was just too expensive (as a kid this was always the problem, right?) I decided digital. I've had nikons for years, but was introduced to the X100 about a year ago. It is fun for everyday photos, and I kept using my Nikon for urbex. Then my Nikon needed to be serviced (in the USA, since that is where the warranty is) I was forced to take the x100 everywhere. I must say, I will stick with Fuji. I am no fan boy, not by any means. But it is as close to the feeling of a film camera body with the convenience of digital. And the files it produces (be it Jpeg or Raw) are very lovely. It has real metal dials for everything. No scrolling through menus. The aperture is real. Its amazing. I like it so much, I am thinking of getting rid of my Nikon gear (now that i have it back, i barely touch it). Do yourself a favor. Borrow, rent, or just go to a shop that has Fuji on display. Play with them. You will certainly like the handling. Hope all is well and sorry for the long winded comment.

Whatever you choose to do next with your photography, I just hope I'll be round to see it :)
