There are a small cluster of huts (shelters really ) in a bay near Marwick. They're not in use any longer but fishermen would have winched their boats up here and had safe shelter .It's about a half mile walk around the coast to get there. I stupidly walked there on the day of the storm Connor. I was physically on my knees at one stage getting back to the car. It was only when I got back I realised how bloody stupid I'd been with wind speeds of 80mph. Refreshing to say the least. And, to top it all I hardly got any photos. There was no way i'd take a camera out of my bag - the spray from the sea was like a massive salty foam party - a very cold one too. I risked a couple of iphone shots, just doing some post processing . So it's old but new as well ;)
This has a wonderfully medieval feel... and yes - prolly not very wise to be out and about in that kind of weather... but I'd likely have done the same (and 'know... probably have!)
Always envious of your extraordinary landscape - though I doubt I'd last five mins. ;)
Maybe you should get one of those diving cases for your camera. ;)
Glad you are safe!
