We arrived in the Lake District today with just enough daylight to walk through the woods to Aira Force. The light was fading fast and there was a lot of spray at the bottom of the main waterfall so we walked to the top and I took some shots of the water in the river before it falls. I wanted to try the smooth water effect so did a longer exposure. It's a lovely walk and we were so lucky to have the place pretty much to ourselves!
By the way, my researcher tells me that waterfalls in the Lake District are called 'Force', from the Norse word 'Foss' brought here by Viking settlers in the 10th century. I really have learnt something new every day this year thanks to 365!
Wow, that is a perfect shot of the water - so soft and very clear focus. I love doing these types of shots, but don't have any decent streams around here
