Way back in January I posted a photo of the Liverpool Philharmonic https://365project.org/inthecloud5/365/2017-01-15 and many of you lovely people gave it some great feedback. The comment by Mark @markp stuck in my mind, it got me thinking about joining a camera club and maybe even entering some competitions. Thanks Mark, I'd never even considered it.
After much deliberation I joined the local club in September, this month they asked for entries for the annual monochrome print competition so I picked some photos to re-edit in mono. Bought a printer and paper, and after a bit of trial and error, ended up with 6 prints to enter.
The judge came to present his comments and prizes this week, and 5 of the 6 prints made it to the final cut. I came away with a commended, a highly commended, a very highly commended, third place and second place for the Liverpool Philharmonic print. Thrilled to bits and completely stunned doesn't even come close to describing how I felt! There are some incredibly talented photographers in the club so feel immensely lucky to have so many of mine chosen.
I couldn't have done this without all of you here on 365. Your encouragement and support has been amazing, thank you all so much :)
Well done! 365 is so encouraging isn't it. I notice @markp hasn't responded. Sometimes the reference in one's commentary doesn't get picked up - hope he sees this now! :-)
Oh, very many Congratulations Christine. You have done extremely well there, but there again you do have some amazing and beautiful images. I know how you must have felt, getting more and more excited as your images kept getting put to one side for further consideration. A splendid result and even more so in that you have printed your own prints, that's another totally different and difficult skill to master.
Well Done.
@Cherrill Thank you Cherrill, for mentioning this, I didn't get a notification from the narrative, and have had very little time to get on here for the last few days and had totally missed Christines post.
Certainly well deserved.
Well Done.

@Cherrill thanks for your lovely comment and for tagging Mark :)
@markp thank you Mark, I'm made up :) I wondered if you'd seen this. I'd never have thought my photos were fit to enter into a competition if you hadn't made that comment. I'm learning a lot from the judges too, it's certainly interesting to hear what they have to say!
