At the Albert Dock. I've taken lots of photos here before but today I concentrated on the lines and shapes and how they change as you move around the dockside. I tried to compose it with the rule of thirds in mind, this isn't cropped so I was quite pleased with the outcome.
This is a familiar environment to me, I worked here for many years so feel very connected to it for all sorts of reasons. It's good to come here and take photos. This one in black and white reminds me of the photos I've seen of the dock before it was restored. It was one of the areas of the city that had been neglected and its restoration kickstarted the regeneration of the city in the 1980s. It was quiet today because it was so cold but it's a magnet for tourists and full of life.
Oh ... this is grand. Perfect in B&W and how nice the tourists were gone. Love the reflections and the dramatic effect. You should frame this as it holds so many memories for you and it is a stunning image. Fav.
