It was forecast to be windy and rainy today so we went on the ferry for a day trip to the island of Sanday, only small but no surprise to find that it has miles of sandy beaches.
Despite the dull day the colours were bright so it was a wonderful place to walk. We met a man on a bike on the track leading to the beach then had just a few birds for company all afternoon.

Some lovely beaches up there, I know but the temperature of the water discourages swimming! A bit the same in the south of NZ! Great for photos though!
