We spent our last day in Orkney going back to some of our favourite places, the last on our list was to see the arctic tern chicks.
Last week they were nowhere to be seen, it was probably too windy for them, but today they were out standing on the rocks, waiting for their food to be delivered.
The speed of the terns swooping in with the fish was amazing. This one landed and after several attempts by both chicks to grab the fish, the parent finally decided which one was going to have it.
Other birds fed their chicks by hovering above and dropping the fish into the chick's open mouth, their aerial skills are second to none.
