Northern Brown Argus by inthecloud5

Northern Brown Argus

Perfect weather for another walk with plenty of butterfly activity, which meant more stopping for photos than walking but that's fine with me :)

I saw these tiny butterflies flitting about, they were so easily disturbed but I kept still and was ready for this one when it landed. I hadn't ever seen them before, the underside of their wings look like a common blue butterfly but inside the colours are dark but iridescent, a fascinating sight.

I met a lady who knew about them, she said they're called Northern Brown Argus, I think they are much too pretty for such a down to earth name!

Thanks for all your comments and favs on yesterday's butterfly, it was lovely to see it on pp and tp :)
