The Minton tiled floor in St George's Hall is normally covered by a wooden floor but is revealed for a week or so every year for the public to see it in all its glory.
This year they did a special evening tour to walk on the floor, you can usually only view it from the walkway at the sides.
A friend of mine was guiding the tours so she said it was ok to put my tripod on the floor to get some photos. I tried a long exposure here to get the movement of people on the floor but they were mostly standing still chatting!
I'd like to do something about the artificial light reflecting on the floor but not sure how. If anyone's got any tips for reducing the effects please let me know :-)
@777margo They were covered by a wooden floor in the 1860s when they started using the hall for dances so have been well preserved, they are in great condition.
