On our way around the coast we saw lots of gannets diving into the sea to catch fish, entering the water with a big splash before emerging with or without a catch.
It became a bit of a challenge to try and get a photo as they tucked in their wings to make themselves streamlined to enter the water at high speed. Like a rocket actually, so you can imagine how delighted I was to find this, the one and only that was in focus in amongst the many, many misses and blurred blobs.
That is amazing !!!
I have lots of blurry blobs.
Even catching them in flight, or level flight is challenging, catching him mid dive, in focus, tucked in, body ready to enter the water is fabulous.
These are doing up to sixty miles an hour as they hit the water.
This one was seriously fishing, well done Christine.
