I thought this might be Queen Anne's Lace but I couldn't recall having seen it at this stage of life before, found this really helpful guide online which I think confirms it is

I also learned that these reddish coloured spiky things are the fruits of the plant that become the seeds. They're called schizocarps, i think it could be my favourite word of the week!
