Test 1

I feel like I need to justify myself, but really I can't. A new camera happened to fall into my online shopping basket and it arrived today. Its so easy isn't
I don't really "need" a new camera. I have a DSLR that I love. However, there are times that I don't want to use it - such as when we're at the beach as I'm terrified of getting sand/water in it ... and changing lenses would certainly not cross my mind. That means if I do risk it sometimes I haven't made the right choice of lens and I'm stuck. I therefore resort to my phone it?
camera, which again, is great. However, that has its limitations. I therefore toyed with getting a new bridge camera - and took the plunge.

I've gone for a Canon this time and it is going to take a bit of a while to get used to as its very different to my Nikon. I only got it late this afternoon and managed to get enough charge in it to dash off and try and get a few pictures. I've put 3 on just as tests. The bee on the thistle was taken from around 25 feet away - the bee was a happy accident. The other thistle was again taken from some distance and I'm quite impressed. It has a massive range - although at full zoom the quality of the picture does suffer. It will be interesting to have a really good look and see how I get on - I'm hoping it will really bridge the gap I have.

NB. I process the majority of my photos in some way but I have left these SOOC
Great details and focus on this one. I like your dof and how the background makes the thistle pop. :)

Strange how things drop in your basket , had the same a couple of months ago a 150-600mm lens dropped in mine told Jan the tooth fairy bought it. Don't know why she didn't believe me :-)

LOL 😃 I've just done the exact same as you, but in reverse. I've had theCanon PowerShot for a couple of years now; love it. Great camera, more tricks than you can shake a dirty stick at, but yesterday afternoon, a complete stranger knocked on my door and delivered a box from Amazon containing a Canon DSLR. No idea how that happened, but I had to use it today.
Enjoy the PowerShot.
