For 20 years, I have tried to lure hummingbirds into my yard. My mom loved hummingbirds but we could only ever see them by venturing closer into the mountains. Right after she died last year, I would have, and did, swear that I heard one in my backyard. Of course, my brain was so foggy at that time that I (and everyone else) had a hard time believing it. However, I was hopeful enough that I put up a few new feeders and LOTS of flowers this year. At the beginning of summer I, again, swore that I heard one. I nearly injured people, pushing them out of the way when I looked out and actually saw one. Since then, I have been seeing them within a ten minute window everytime I look. And, yes, I AM hearing them, too. Could be the feeders. Could be the flowers. Could be their tiny little angel wings...
