Dry Stone Wall 1 by jack4john

Dry Stone Wall 1

Called dry stone walls because there was nothing used to bind the stones together. Built to seperate fields, they are very common around Ireland. This one is on top of a hill in the Burren an area of bare limestone and scrub grass. They are so beautifully constructed they are like natural works of art..
Wow, especially with all the movement in the grass! I bet it would also look great in a higher-contrast black and white with all those textures and patterns!

So many different styles, lots of them here in Wales too. I haven't seem one with a double top layer though.

This is beautiful ~ I bet they are even more so seen all strewn out across the land! Interesting how people use what is available to complete their lives, and how different it is in different lands.
