Hearth stone by jack4john

Hearth stone

Where once they sat, and spoke, after the day.
Children, face's aglow from the dancing flames.
The center, The mothering spot.
The hearth that never went out.
Cold now, home to nesting rooks.
Words are evocative.

Words like a memorial that tell a story and bring alive speculation as to the past in this place!

I find myself reading this with an Irish accent (disturbing!!). Don't be too hard on yourself, it's not bad poetry at all.... it's very fitting.

Powerful use of text to complement this evocative image. People do spend time together around the fireplace. Fav
