on tour

this is a tour of the Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan USA offered through The Henry Ford. I went today with a good friend and her grandson...way cool! got to see the assembly plant in operation. this was taken from an observation tower. this area includes the steel factory I have photographed and published here. Henry Ford was a genius businessman and had everything he needed right on this property including a power plant to provide the power...it is along the Rouge River hence the name. The drawbridges (bascule bridges) are still in order with freighters bringing in raw materials for steel production. the steel plant is no longer owned by the Ford Motor Company.
We went there many times! Too bad you can't photograph inside of the factory - it is fascinating to watch people work!
