this goose has lost it's mate. it is at the end of the lake. he has taken to mourning, which I guess is common for geese. another smaller goose has joined him. maybe a new mate or could it possibly be one of it's offspring? I don't know but this is very sad and somber. he ventures a bit down the lake and always turns back to the direction of it's mate. at first it stood on shore in my neighbor's yard and literally was like a statue staring at the body. now at least he is in the water and venturing a bit each day but always returning to the lost loved one. I hope he finds some peace.
