playing with portrait pro...just to gain experience with it. is this how we see our children? perfect in every way? so many photographers do perfect skin edits. although she has pretty flawless skin to begin with don't know if I'm sold...
Beautifully composed. She has stunning eyes! and you caught such a natural and fun expression. I struggle with getting pretty natural expressions. The grandkids are sometimes frustrated with grandma's camera ....
I'm not familiar with Portrait Pro, but I do like to edit my portraits. I love the work of Helen Whittle, and took a course she and April Milani did on children's portraits. Since then I've abandoned the skin softener, though I do edit out the chocolate that frequents lips and mouth area when they visit. I love how Helen brings out eyes, and I've been trying to adapt her technique. I haven't yet been able to go with the harsh contrasts she uses in her black and whites, but I am gradually learning to go with less perfect and more edgy. Good luck with your experiments! This is really quite lovely.
I love the expression...this is a beautiful portrait. I like that it has the look of a professional shot, but not posed or phony...she looks calm and sweet.
@aecasey thanks for the feedback. I took a look at their work which I love! I actually edit similarly for myself...usually parents aren't as receptive to that kind of edit though. This edit of Rachel was really practice. The parents did not get this but received a much more natural one😊 I've been trying to figure out the smooth skin edit that so many photographers do. I get where I want to figure something out and do things til I get it. Not sure if I'm completely successful just yet. The class looks great maybe sometime in the future! Thanks again!
