Trying some different editing ideas. There is an infinite amount of ways to edit am image and I try to explore different techniques to see what I like. Sometimes I like the results and sometimes I don't but I always learn something.
Love how you spotlighted his face. Caught a good expression also.

Jake, nice lighting. Did you use a modifier of any type?

@shutterbug49 My brother-in-law graduated from Berkeley with an Entomology degree. He decided he didn't like the field and went on to study Japanese (he's Japanese American 2nd generation). He lived and worked in Japan for several years and now works in high tech representing Japanese firms in the USA.

This is nice,but a little too many shadows on his face for my taste.

It's gritty. I think that's hard to accomplish because it isn't something we see often. Well done.
