Glacier Distilling by jakes

Glacier Distilling

This barrel started life aging whisky from Glacier Distilling, then we used it at Backslope Brewing to age beer. Now it is in my shop waiting to be made into something for its next life.
Beautiful capture, the wood must smell divine. I love the coloured one more than the b&w, because of the soft colours of the wood and the pattern of the woodgrain.

i think I agree with @jacqbb about this one with the colors and subtlety of the wood grain

Gosh. It looks stunning just as it is. And that mallet is SO stylish. I think I would enjoy your workshop.

What a great life it has had. I think it looks fantastic just the way it is. It would make a wonderful bottom for a glass table - easy peasy!
I think it would be a shame to destroy it!
Wonderful still life, BTW with the mallet sitting on top like that.

I’ve tried that beer aged in whiskey barrels at our local micro brewery. It is very nice....definitely not my Dad’s beer. Love the wood grain and warm tones of the wood.

Great still life shot. We have a port barrel from Australia that was made from oak barrels which imported Scottish whiskey to Australia. Great stories behind these things.
