Leek by jamibann

Leek

Moving away from fruit and on to Winter vegetables. I was cutting up leeks for a pot of soup yesterday and I thought the slices looked lovely with their various shades of green. A little balancing act meant I was able to do something artistic with them. I regretted afterwards that I didn't spend more time with them before they got thrown in the pot, but I was in a hurry to get the soup made and on to other things! This shot is not as sharp as I'd have wanted it.
Clever

That could be a good Christmas game - Balance the Leeks ;) The variation in colour is really interesting and I'm very impressed at the balancing act!

Very clever and lovely result.

I think this works very well with the slightly soft focus - tack sharp would have been too 'clinical'... IMHO.

Really very clever, I wish I had thought of something like that

Very cool Issi. And I agree with the other comment that it is perfect as it is.

A fun way to show your slices of leek, Issi. Clever shot and I like the softness too.

It's wonderful -- like two trees stacked with their rings showing.

@julzmaioro Indeed - I had already rinsed through the colander by that time - I hate grit in leeks!

My first thought was "polished rock or petrified wood". The label and title promptly corrected that idea. Then I proceeded to be impressed by the balancing talent displayed here! Lovely showcasing of the intricate designs of the lowly leek.

This is lovely; they look like slices of agate.
