Michelangelo's 'The Manchester Madonna' by jamibann

Michelangelo's 'The Manchester Madonna'

On Saturday afternoon, whilst the boys watched rugby matches in a London bar, the girls opted for a bit of culture. We went to the National Gallery to see the Michelangelo & Sebastiano exhibition. I had taken this image before I was told that no photography was allowed, so thought I may as well make use of it! It's an unfinished early (1497-ish) painting of Michelangelo's depicting the Virgin and Child with St John and Angels.

A lovely capture, sad that he never managed to finish it. Must be quite an amazing exhibition to see.

Wonderful depiction of the art in progress. And funny as my first thought was (working backwards from Camden street art), that is one unusual street art scene!

@taffy Yes indeed. From the ridiculous to the sublime, or whichever way you want to put it!
