The Shape of Wood by jamibann

The Shape of Wood

Hubby's been working like a trojan, cutting up all the trees that were taken down earlier in the week. We have a good supply for years to come, I think. I love the circles of life in each log.
I guess these also had a lovely 'perfume'!

Wood is beautiful, the look, smell & things you can make never mind the warmth! Wood is like money in the bank.....it’s expensive to buy! We always had our own supply when we still farmed but now the land us sold we have to buy it like everyone else! You will be loving your wood burner although wood will be better next year!

I, too, like the rings. These look so fresh I can almost smell them.

At the Christmas craft fairs I've seen so many charming items made, even from the rough wood!

Wonderful shot of the tree rings.

I find it fascinating how the rings in a tree's trunk tell the tree's life story. Looks as though there was lots of moisture in this one's early years.
