The Road Home

A fishing bothy on the river Dee.

I feel as if I'm trying to keep too many plates spinning at the moment! Dad is a little bit poorly, so I'm keeping an eye on him and trying to help out; visitor's season is full on - we have more guests arriving this weekend. Next weekend we do the Loch Ness Cycling Etape - 100km and fairly hilly, so we have to be ready for that. To that end, today was dedicated to an 80km hilly cycle ride to make sure we don't embarrass ourselves next weekend. Tomorrow is cooking and cleaning in advance of our visitors arriving! I do wonder how we ever managed to work?!
Beautiful scenery - and 80km is a long bike ride. Your life sounds so busy - hope your dad recovers soon

Ha ha Issi, I have heard that said before! We say it all the time, how on earth did we manage to milk 120 cows! Hope your dad soon picks up & you cope with all you have planned. Weather looks good anyway! Our daughter & SIL are up visiting Barry & Jo in Braemar over Easter.

Love the colours in this part of the world! And good to have warmer days and sunshine. Tricky trying to balance all the spinning plates!
Just realised your cycling event is the same one as our son and his friend are doing but I don't think he's been able to fit in as much training as you have!!!

Training will pay off -- and what a beautiful area to train. Good luck with those spinning plates!

I am always learning new words from you -- a fishing "bothy."

Terrific scenery. Yes I think we all wonder how on earth we fitted in time to work!! Hope your dad improves, the cycling goes well and your visitors are great :)

Lovely scenery, I often wonder how I had time to work and I'm not trying to fit in 80km cycling trips :) Hope your Dad is on the mend :)

@peterday I am, don't worry!

@tunia Bothies are everywhere here. Fishing huts, garden sheds, street cafés, hillwalking refuges ... you name it, we call it a bothy!

@sarah19 Oh how funny! I'll need to look out for them next weekend then! Your son will be a lot younger and fitter than us, and so will need less training! ;-) I just aim to survive and not be swept up by the van for being too slow!

@happypat Need to look out for your daughter and SIL ... I'll be in Braemar tonight and tomorrow afternoon!
April 19th, 2019
Another sunny day! I hope the good weather keeps up for your bike ride!

@jamibann They set off tomorrow to arrive in Braemar Saturday late afternoon. Staying for three days then off to Dunblane. You will probably be gone by the time they arrive! Hope dad is feeling better today.

A lovely scene

@happypat Ah, well, it's unlikely I'll bump into them then! Dad came out for dinner with us last night and seemed on good form. Very happy about that.

Like Tunia, I’m always learning new things from your posts. Today, “bothy”. Happy to read that your dad is feeling better. It seems to me that you have totally mastered spinning oodles of plates at the same time. :-)
