Floo'er Wullie by jamibann

Floo'er Wullie

I had a full day in Aberdeen today, getting myriad things sorted, including my iMac. A successful, but tiring day! I made time, however, over my 'lunch hour' to track down some of these lovely statues, based on the Scottish Oor Wullie cartoon from way, way back in the day!

Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail runs from 17th June 2019 – 30th August 2019 in five host cities, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness, and it aims to raise awareness and funds for Scotland’s children’s hospital charities.

This is Floo'er Wullie, designed by Lindsay Allardyce. I'll post another tomorrow.

that's great fun - so I must have pictures from a few years ago from the same thing? It must have been 2016 I was taking pictures of Oor Willie in Inverness station and went looking for the one in Glasgow and couldn't find it.

I love the way it is set against the sombre background but with the flowers as another touch of colour

Well, here’s something else I learned today . . . all about the Scottish Oor Wullie comic strip. I googled it and read the entire history. Sounds like a fun character with some interesting adventures. I think the Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail is a wonderful way to raise money for the Children’s Hospital. :-)
